love Just a rant. *Quick Disclaimer: *I love my mom.
So, I saw the new Pixar (The Incredibles, Finding Nemo) movie WALL.E a couple days ago at a friends place cuz he had a copy on DVD. The movie is sooo good! Til now my fave from them was the Incredibles, but I will put this one as a tie now! Anyone who likes a cute, funny, and amazing CG animation film will love this film.
Now, onto the rant. So after watching it, I asked my friend if I could get a copy of it cuz I knew my parents, especially my mom, would really like to see it. He of course said sure. He burns DVDs by making chapters in them instead of just having it play all the way through without a break. I love that he does that too. But, it slows the burning process way down. It takes a couple hours to do in fact.
I decided to come back the next day after work since it was already about 8 pm and I didn't wanna get back at like 10:30.
Well, I get to his place about 4:30 the next day and he started copying the movie about a hr before I got there. So I knew I was going to be there at least a hr. No prob. I called my mom and told her I was at his place and that he was making a copy of WALL.E for me and that I'd be coming over there to drop it off so they could watch it. My mom sounded happy about it. I knew I had to take another bus from his place to theirs since I don't drive to work, but was still ok with that. I was however starting to get a little tired.
After the movie was done, I went to catch the bus to my parents and as soon as I was outside, I was reminded how hot n muggy it was. Like 83 degrees! I was so not happy about being on a crowded (it was 5:30ish, rush hour) bus in the muggy heat. but, I was already committed. It was about a 15 min. wait for the bus, and another 25 min. ride there. Oh, annnd my iPod battery died, so no tunes! By now I was a bit grumpy.
Well, here's the point of my rant and why I won't be doing this for my mom ever again. I get to my parents house, tired, hot, and hungry from not having ate since noon. I was actually planning to stay for a bit n watch the movie with them and maybe snag a good ol' home cooked meal.
Wrong. As soon as I walked literally like 5 steps into the hall to the living room where they were, the first thing my mom says is "Oh I remembered that copying movies is illegal to do, he shouldn't have done that for you". WTF?!!! Not even a "hi, how are you?" Oh I was instantly was furious, but didn't say a word, I simply gave them the DVD and turned around saying It was late and I needed to get home. I knew my mom felt bad about saying what she did right after that, cuz she got all quiet and overly friendly saying she could cook me dinner n she still wanted to see the movie anyways (which made me more upset actualy) but too little too late in my opinion.
