The sounds of silence
I got a e-mail today from the parents of a great friend of mine. It made my heart and soul hurt. It informed me that my friend and her 8 yr. old daughter didn't survive the horrific earthquake in China. The worst in 3 decades.

I really don't know why I'm posting this. I'm not looking for comfort, I am quite calm with death in fact. But, of course I am sad and frustrated. I guess, if anything, I just wanted to ask that you please take a moment of silence in your busy lives for my friend. She was doing what she always wanted though. Teaching young children English.

Thanks, and as always, peace.

Here and there
Well, this weekend was quite fun! I went to the Emerald City Comic Convention on Saturday, spent waaay too much $, but no regrets. Got a new Superman t-shirt (Original Logo), and a limited edition print (I have #50 of 100) of The Hulk sitting on The Pike Place Market sign. It's a big farmers market and shops here in downtown Seattle. Some of the costumes I saw were so cool! My fave was this guy dressed as The Joker complete with a purple suit and all white face with bright red lips.

I also started a new Live Journal (Covering ears from the harsh gasp of loyal Mindsayers!) Don't worry, I;m not leaving here, just wanted another place to blog about things. Always good to have options right? So, if you have a Live Journal, I'm zenglen there. I'd love for you to stop by and add me!

Things that make you go Ohhmmm

Here is a small collection of fun filled sayings I have collected, and a few sent to me from the beloved neonite . May this bring you a wealth of laughs and a sore face from smiling!

Zen Thoughts

He who laughs last, thinks slowest.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in thier shoes. That way when you criticize them, your a mile away, and have their shoes.

If at first you don't succeed, sky diving is not for you.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, Teach that man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat n drink beer.

A day without sunshine is like, night.

Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have.

Monday is an awful way to spend 1/7 of your week.

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow.

Always try to be modest, and be proud of it!

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of car payments.

How many of you believe in telekinesis? Raise my hand...

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?

Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened

Mindsay Makeover

Ok, with a show of hands, please raise your hand if, like me, your just not happy with the 'updated' Mindsay main page! Smiley

The page has 1 so-so interesting 'news' story that always stays on there for 3-4 days(and having to look at that 'pregnant' 1/2 naked man for that long was just wrong!), the bloggers pics are so tiny, and all the great and latest entries that should be shown on a blog site, are overshadowed, once again, by past useless news.

Oh sure there's a option to click on to get ya back to the orginal look, but once you log out, it goes right back to the new style.

So, in a time of people talking about change, I want the good ol' classic Mindsay page back. For good. and the for the good of the people....of Mindsay. Smiley

Peace.
